If you going for a chic Parisian look in the bedroom, then you'll want something that is elegant in silks and brocades but if your tastes run more to the rustic you might want something that has outdoorsy appeal in a pine tree or moose print or flannel check.

Then you want to choose one of these colors and out fit your bed in that color. But if your walls are just paint and your rug is solid, then you can add a little pizzazz to your room with a jazzy comforter set in an interesting pattern.

Find something that you fall in love with and you can decorate your room around the colors and style of the bedding. If you do go this route, you'll want to take into consideration your carpeting and your wall colors unless you plan on re-carpeting and repainting because you don't want to pick bedding that will clash.

This doesn't mean you have to buy the most expensive set you find, but if you get something that is not well made and uses shoddy materials it won't look good and it won't last long. Pay attention to the detail of the construction and the types of materials used and go with the best that you can afford for long lasting and beautiful bedding.
